Hormonal Contraceptives

Hormones are naturally occurring chemicals, which determine functions in our bodies.

Some hormones can be created artificially, and used to encourage the body to behave in a certain way.

Hormonal methods of contraception are a safe and effective method of birth control for women, but don't protect you against Sexually Transmitted Infection (STIs).  Hormal methods can be taken several ways these include:

  • The Pill
  • An Implant
  • Patches
  • Injection

If you want to know more, why not visit your Doctor or any of the young people's clinics!
